Hey Sun Devil Parents!

We are thrilled to be hosting our first home meet tonight at Redfield! Please read the important information below:

• *Meet Program is still being finalized – COMING SOON IN 2^ND EMAIL
• -4pm: Swimmers arrive to mark their arms
• -4:30pm: Redfield warm up
• -5pm: Visiting team warm up
• -5:30pm: MEET BEGINS RAIN OR SHINE
• oIf it thunders, we will follow ASA protocols with 20 min delays, etc. The Team coordinators and coaches will use weather radars and “common sense” based on how far along we are in the meet program to decide to “call it” or wait. If we can make it through with no thunder past IM – we can call it a complete meet.
• -The meet is going to look different tonight – be aware! There is an ASA rule about swimmers all being in one HEAT 1 for the sake of being fair, so if your swimmer is typically in a Heat 1 and is swimming Heat 2 -- this is why. Most smaller teams simply don’t care. Mountaire does. I spoke with friends at Branches, and they follow this ASA rule as well, so I think this will just be one of the aches we will feel as Redfield experiences growing pains and moves into larger summer swim Divisions. Also, this means your swimmer MAY be challenged tonight to swim a stroke they are not super pumped about. I highly recommend you support the coach’s choice. Kylie wouldn’t put them in something they can’t finish. And encourage your child to set goals and be a rockstar. They are among friends – it will be great!

Helpful tips:

• -Bring bug spray. We all got nibbled on today at morning practice.
• -Bring tons o’ cash. Concessions will have amazing selections. Hot dogs, pulled pork, pasta, candy, baked goods, fruit, drinks, SNO CONES… It’s gonna be delicious.
• -Feel free to bring a tiny cooler of adult beverages, but just remember this is a kids’ swim meet not Burning Man😊
• -Bring sports chairs. It’s going to be super duper crowded tonight!
