Volunteer Job Descriptions

You will select your volunteer role and shift when RSVPing for meets. We need each family to complete at least five shifts for the season. Please note, not all of these positions are required to be filled for "Away" meets. Don't forget - we offer a Pay to Play option so you can just sit back and relax!!!

Each meet has 2 shifts. First shift lasts from event 1 (5:30pm) until event 43. Shift two lasts from shift 44 until the end of the meet. 

Line Up (1 per shift) – take kids from Bull Pen to chairs behind the starting blocks.  Sit them in event/heat order in the correct lanes.  First shift: 5:30 pm; Second shift:  after event 43.

Deck Manager (1 per shift) – confirms that correct swimmer is on the block swimming in the correct event and correct lane for all Redfield lanes.  

Judge/Recorder (2 per shift) – Home (2), Away (1).  Sits next to pool and writes down finishing order on Placing Form. Hands form to Master Recorder. 

Master Recorder (1 per shift) – Collects Judges Placing Forms and documents times from each lane. 

Runner – (1 per shift) - Collects Judges Placing Sheet from Master Recorder and takes it to the scoring table/computer.  

Computer (1 per shift).  Inputs time and data from Judges Placing Sheet.

Timer (3 lanes; 2 per each lane) – Responsible for timing their lane's swimmers. One is master timer and one documents time on heat sheet.  

Concessions (4 for first shift, 3 for second shift) – food and candy sales. 

PRE MEET OPPORTUNITIES

Pasta (5 before meet) – bring 4 lbs cooked penne pasta in Ziploc bag with olive oil.  Bring to pool at 5 pm.

Cookies/brownies (1 before meet) – bake 3 batches of cookies or brownies, bag individually (2 per bag), bring to meet at 5 pm.

Salad/fruit (2 before meet) – wash/prepare salad and/or fruit, bring to pool during set-up at 5 pm.  Materials provided.

Others may be listed as needed.
